2jasoncrawford2yWhat exactly do you want to sustain?
I want progress itself to be sustained, including sustained economic growth.
Ultimately I want sustained, continuous increases in human well-being.
Typically today, the term “sustainable” means something else. It can mean
sustaining the use of a particular technology or a particular infrastructure
base, even if that means limiting growth. In this sense, usually,
“sustainability” is the opposite of progress: to sustain is to stagnate.
